NECSEThe Northern European Co-operation for Sex Education projects (NECSE) is an annual four-day conference held over the Easter weekend. The aim of the conference is bringing together sex educators from around (Northern) Europe to socialize, learn and share ideas in an open-minded atmosphere.
For years, the core part of NECSE has been the method exchange in which educators present a selection of teaching methods from their respective countries. The point of the method exchange is to learn and to teach others: each new method introduced by one country could potentially be used to educate pupils in every other country. It is a way for us to ensure that each participating nation has access to the best and newest there is to offer in sex education.
Whilst the method exchange is central to NECSE, it does not even begin to describe the full conference experience. Because besides learning from each other we also get exchange ideas with an array of external lecturers, who are specialists in their respective fields.
NECSE is attended by members from twelve countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
The where and whenNECSE 2016 will take place from the 25th until the 28th of March in the municipality of Overasselt. Like most years, this year’s NECSE will take place at a remote location in a natural surrounding, to ensure that the participants can fully focus on the NECSE experience.
