Global Health Education ProjectGlobalisation is a fact. Society is changing, but healthcare has not been adapting with it. Modern doctors are often still oblivious to diseases that originate from other parts of the world, even though they are becoming more common each day. GHEP’s goal is to make students aware of their part, as future doctors, in improving Global Health in a globalised society.
GHEP aims to reach this by introducing more Global Health in medical curricula. It does this by creating more awareness for Global Health in students and policy makers.
GHEP was founded in 2001 and has been very active since. GHEP focusses on hosting expert meetings and congresses. Next to this GHEP also does opinion polls amongst medicine students to find out if they are satisfied about the amount of Global Health eductation. GHEP is a regular speaker on the Dutch Association for Medical Education (NVMO) congress and also discusses the topic of Global Health with all the Dutch Medical faculties.
