SCIM

Standing Committee of International Medicine brings you the color of the rainbow that you hadn’t seen before! We do our best to bring together and unite international students as well as students from the regular Dutch curriculum together in fun, interactive and knowledgeable events. By participating you enable major international topics to blossom and ultimately, you may play a role in bringing attention to the forgotten ones.

“No one should have to choose between medicine and other necessities. No one should have to use the emergency room every time a child gets sick. And no one should have to live in constant fear that a medical problem will become a financial crisis” - Brad Henry

Brad Henry’s wisdom is consistent with the philosophy of SCIM, Standing Committee on International Medicine, of IFSMA Groningen. On our planet, there are constantly individuals andcommunities who are being forgotten, who do not receive the kind of attention that they need and deserve, all of which they have the right to. Often these are poor and/or minorities of different kinds. This Committee, stands out from the rest as its working mission is to bring together people from all nationalities and backgrounds to shed light onto different important subjects within International Medicine, hopefully enlightening a few brains further, awakening passion in a few hearts, and causing a few other to take action.
Hopefully, increasing understanding for subjects that have long been filed under neglect. We want to think beyond our daily borders, we want to expand our borders, challenge the nay-sayers and disheartened ones. By participating you enable major international topics to blossom and ultimately, you may play a role in bringing attention to the forgotten ones.
