Climate March: Join the Health & Care Bloc
With national elections approaching, IFMSA-NL calls on everyone in and around healthcare to show that health and climate justice go hand in hand. Together with the Green Healthcare Alliance and The Health Cause (PHM-NL), we are once again organising the Health & Care Bloc at the Climate March. Health professionals, students, patient (groups), and institutions: you’re warmly invited to walk with us or to officially endorse the bloc.
Why we march
The climate crisis is the greatest public health threat of this century. Leading medical journals have urged action to protect health, limit warming, and restore biodiversity, while The Lancet has repeatedly warned about the health harms of fossil fuels. The healthcare community is ready to make this visible.
What we stand for
- Health in All Policies: embed health across all climate and environmental policy.
- Climate justice: make polluters pay, protect vulnerable groups, and ensure loss-and-damage finance for countries that contributed least yet suffer most.
- Fossil-free care and society: end fossil subsidies, ban fossil advertising, and phase out fossil fuels by 2030.
