The Berendokter committee trains students who later visit the children's departments of the UMCG and the Martini Hospital. In the hospital, the students distract the ill children by letting them play pretend and be a doctor for their sick teddy bear. The members of the committee join the children in their make-believe. They also maintain contact with the UMCG and Martini Hospital and ensure that enough material is available every year. Speaking Dutch is a requirement for this committee.
